Glades Media owns and operates over 18 Broadcast signals in South Florida, serving from Vero Beach to Key West and up to Fort Myers, plus everything in between.
Glades Media was started back in the early 80’s by Robbie Castellanos and James Johnson in a small town on the south side of Lake Okeechobee called Clewiston. The first station was WAFC-FM 106.3 and played country music.
Glades Media then added AM590 and started programming Regional Mexican in the late 80’s on it. The large coverage area aloud Glades to expand and continue to grow its group of stations by adding AM1380 in Palm Beach County and AM1490 over in the Fort Myers market.
Now Glades is operating 18 broadcast signals that cover Palm Beach, Fort Myers, Fort Pierce and Key West. Glades is operating the largest Regional Mexican group of stations in Florida. Glades also programs Country music and Alternative Rock as well. The big focus for Glades has always been local programming and we have always tried to make that a part of each station with things like local news, sports and high school football.
