We are looking for a talented, energetic, and creative Afternoon Drive Radio Personality who can connect with our audience, deliver compelling on-air entertainment, and represent one of the strongest Spanish-language radio brands in Palm Beach County.
Job Overview
The Afternoon Drive Radio Personality is responsible for hosting an entertaining, engaging, and professional Spanish-language radio program on WLLY-FM 99.5 in West Palm Beach.
The ideal candidate will have a dynamic on-air presence, a strong understanding of Regional Mexican music and Hispanic culture, and the ability to connect with listeners both on the air and through digital and social media platforms.
This is a full-time, in-person position that requires creativity, preparation, professionalism, and a genuine passion for radio broadcasting and community involvement.
The successful candidate will work closely with station management, programming, sales, and promotions to maintain the station’s strong audience connection and continued success in the West Palm Beach market.
Job Responsibilities
- Host a live, entertaining, and engaging weekday Afternoon Drive radio program on WLLY-FM 99.5.
- Deliver compelling Spanish-language on-air content that connects with the station’s target audience.
- Prepare daily show content, including entertainment, music information, trending topics, local events, and listener interaction.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Regional Mexican music, artists, entertainment, and Hispanic culture.
- Interact with listeners through phone calls, social media, contests, and station promotions.
- Maintain an energetic, positive, and professional on-air presentation consistent with the La Ley 99.5 brand.
- Operate studio broadcasting equipment and radio automation systems.
- Produce and record commercials, promotional announcements, station imaging, and other audio content as needed.
- Participate in station social media activities, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, live video, and other digital platforms.
- Develop creative content that helps grow the station’s audience and digital engagement.
- Conduct interviews with artists, community leaders, advertisers, and other guests when appropriate.
- Work closely with the programming and promotions departments to develop contests, special features, and station events.
- Participate in live remote broadcasts, promotional appearances, concerts, festivals, and community events.
- Support station advertisers through professional commercial endorsements, promotional appearances, and sponsored programming when assigned.
- Follow all station programming policies, FCC regulations, and broadcasting standards.
- Maintain accurate program logs and ensure proper execution of scheduled programming and commercial commitments.
- Stay informed about local news, entertainment, community activities, and topics relevant to the Hispanic audience.
- Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and a professional image both on and off the air.
- Represent Glades Media Company and La Ley 99.5 positively throughout the community.
Qualifications
- Previous professional radio broadcasting or on-air personality experience strongly preferred.
- Fluent Spanish-speaking ability required, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of Regional Mexican music, artists, and Hispanic culture.
- Energetic, outgoing personality with the ability to entertain and connect with listeners.
- Strong creativity, improvisational skills, and the ability to communicate naturally and effectively on the air.
- Experience operating radio studio equipment, audio consoles, and automation systems preferred.
- Familiarity with audio production and editing software such as Adobe Audition or similar programs helpful.
- Comfortable using social media platforms and creating engaging digital content.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a professional broadcasting team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prepare daily programming content.
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines and adapt to changing programming needs.
- Knowledge of the West Palm Beach market and South Florida’s Hispanic community is a plus.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to station events and promotional appearances.
- Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special programming and station events.

This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
